Why Support the Arts?
Each year donors to the United Arts Appeal provide critical funding to arts organizations and artists in Chautauqua County, helping to enliven both the spirit and the economy of the region.

The United Arts Appeal donates a portion of its annual campaign funds for artistic projects or artist development that benefit the cultural life of the county. In addition to Projects Pool funding for individual artists and smaller organizations, the United Arts Appeal provides operating support to eight not-for-profit arts organizations.

Supporting the Arts creates a competitive advantage for Chautauqua County. Funding for the Arts supplies the county with:
  • 88 Jobs (Full and Part Time)
  • 1,105 Volunteers who spend 105,800 hours working
  • Direct Spending in Chautauqua County of $1,601,000 annually
  • Multiplier or "Ripple" Effect (2.5%): Over 4 Million Dollars
  • 1,438 Events Last Year with an Attendance of 122,560
  • Attendees from Outside Chautauqua County: 10,670
  • Estimated Number of Overnight Stays: 1,265

+Plus significant impact for local restaurants and retail merchants

In appreciation for their generous support, the United Arts Appeal offers the following benefits for 2011 individual and business contributors:


Friends - Up to $99 

are named with their level of contribution in the printed programs of the events that each of the United Arts Appeal member organizations offers, showing their support of the tens of thousands of residents of and visitors to our community at hundreds of performances and events throughout the year, and are listed on the United Arts Appeal's website 


Supporters - $100-$249 

receive all the benefits of Friends, PLUS

their name and level of contribution on display in the lobbies of the Reg Lenna Civic Center in Jamestown and the 1891 Fredonia Opera House that welcome thousands of people every year, and their name listed on the United Arts Appeal's website, with a link to their website


Donors - $250-$499

receive all the benefits of Supporters, PLUS

10 Free Admissions to movies of their choosing at the Reg Lenna Civic Center or the 1891 Fredonia Opera House, and recognition in at least two news releases sent to media outlets throughout Chautauqua County 


Special Gifts - $500 - $999

receive all the benefits of Donors, PLUS

four Free Admissions to a selected event of their choosing 


Patrons - $1,000 - $2,499

receive all the benefits of Special Gifts, PLUS

upgrade to 10 Free Admissions to a selected event of their choosing


Benefactors - $2,500 - $4,999

receive all the benefits of Patrons, PLUS

upgrade to 20 Free Admissions to a selected event of their choosing or 10 Free Admissions to each of two selected events of their choosing


Sustainers - $5,000 - $9,999

receive all the benefits of Benefactors, PLUS

a Special Private Reception for up to 25 guests before or after a selected event of their choosing where they can Meet the Performers


Guarantors - $10,000 and above

receive all the benefits of Sustainers, PLUS
